Handmade Pouch

Good day! Today, I will share with you my masterpiece! Yes, it is my masterpiece as I made it all by hand. It took me 2 days to finish it and a total of 10 hours. If only I have a sewing machine :( Anyways, I am still proud of my work as this is the first time I made something like this. It is really out of my comfort zone ( same with the choker necklace), for I am a scrapbooker, not a painter, not a jewelry maker and not a pouch maker. I know, I am trying it all. But what can I do, crafting is so fun. Anyways, below are the steps on how I did my pouch. I used my spellbinder dies to be able to make this project. Happy looking!

Position your dies on your felt and roll it to your machine. I used 2 colors of felt (blue and purple). Cut total of 16 doily shapes.

Use a smaller die to cut a shape to be put on the center of your big doily. Repeat step 1

Position the small cut-out on top of the big cut-out.

Stitch the 2 cut-outs together. Alternate the colors.

Draw a square on the big doily/circle cut-out.

Start stitching two big doilies/circles, following the line.

Stitch a total of 8 doilies. Two rows, 4 on each row. Make sure you have two sets.

Cut a rectangle shape that when you fold would be the same size of your stitched doily.

Cut another rectangle shape, this time just 1/3 of the width of your first rectangle.

Attach the 2 rectangles by stitching it together and connect/stich the sides.

Stich the end of thin rectangle :)

On the end of the rectange, position the zipper.

Stitch the zipper.

Attach the doily on each side of the pouch. Stitch both sides and below. The top part would be left open to serve as a pocket.

My Handmade Pouch :)

Thank you for your time looking and I hope that I inspire you once again :) Happy crafting!

Choker necklace

Good morning! Today, I would like to share with you a necklace I made out of paper and felt. Why these materials? Well, these are the available ones I have and I know that I need to make use of it. I hope you like it...

Apply gesso on the felt

After applying gesso, stick the paper on it.

Position the dies on the felt side and roll it to your machine. I used my Spellbinder dies to make my nacklace. Aren't they beautiful? :)

After rolling it to the machine, you will have the cut out pc ( you have to roll it a few times for it to comes out, otherwise you will have to help it by cutting using scissors)

Position the cut-outs according to the design that you want.

Punch holes to the connectors and put eyelets on it. Start connecting it using the jump rings.

Prepare your ribbon or chains to make a necklace.

You can get a pendant of unused brooch to add to your necklace. This flower is an earing.

Connect the ribbon or chain and the center piece for your necklace.

Add some beads or crystals.

Finish product.

Thank you for your time looking and I hope I inspire you today!

Vanessa

Ornaments

Good morning! Whew, I didn't notice how long it has been since I last posted. Not that I'd been lazy again. The truth was I was busy with so many things including my crafts. I did quite well last October and November creating. I tried painting and for a newbie I would say that I did a good job. Well, who else would love my work? Of course me! I am my first fan, ha ha ha :)) But seriously, it was so fun. Scrapbooking, drawing, painting, crafting, and I did my first necklace. Oh yeah, I am trying it all that I really have no time to blog. Though of course I would love you to see what I did. But will post them a bit later. Maybe you are thinking what made me post this time? Well, yesterday morning ( Dec. 12, 2012), I was browsing at Crate Paper blog and I saw their challenge about making ornaments. I was so inspired that I haven't thought of doing my own for our Christmas deco. So right away, I grabbed all my available materials and did what's exactly on my mind upon hearing the word "ornament".

Materials used: Papers - Crate Paper, Stickers - Crate Paper, Ribbons - Prima & American Crafts, Round Styrofoam, Tissue paper tube, Wire, Chipboard (for the wings) and Thread/floss

Thank you for looking!

Vanessa
